Martina Fuchs

Martina Fuchs

Born in 1978, grown up in the Ruhr area in a very playful family, her path led her to the Moselle to study philosophy. Here she rediscovered her enthusiasm for board games after a break and since 2008 she cannot imagine a life without board games.

Bringing young people to the gaming table has always been important to her. So she has not only voluntarily created an board game club, but also youth and children’s board game clubs. She had an exciting experience as a volunteer in a juvenile detention centre, where she introduced young prisoners to board games.

Martina pays special attention to the connection between school and board games, especially in the area of all-day school. Now that she has arrived in Cologne, she continues this work as an all-day educational specialist at a primary school. After ten years of successfully organizing board game groups, Martina is happy to pass on her experience to other schools that want to establish such working groups. The charity campaign #Brettspielcake, which she founded, also brings the cultural asset of games to the table in culinary terms.

In the podcast Fux & Bär she has been providing detailed, critical and competent information about selected board games since 2018.
