Three things you wear on your face: Obviously: a beard, glasses—and arrogance. Right? In “Dito!”, we try to guess what our fellow players are thinking. Matches score points; extra points are awarded if exactly one other person has written down the same word. We enter the our answers into a nine-square grid and check off rows and columns there. In each round, one of two categories on the task card is chosen—ranging from “Countries with good cuisine” to “Things people would sell their souls for.” Although players compete against each other, only those who can fully engage with others’ associations can win.
Jury statement: At first glance, “Dito!” is a competition to score the most points. At its core, however, it brings us together as a group, because we can only succeed by correctly guessing what we have in common. Along the way, we get to know our fellow players better. It’s not about knowledge, but about understanding others’ perspectives—and having a tactical sense for the best placement of the terms.
