Good things come from above. That’s because Lino the mammoth rolls all the resources the Stone Age village needs down the mountain: wood, stones, berries, and crystals. At the bottom, the village children wait and memorize which resource tokens have rolled into which cave. With these, they build important items for the community: rafts and seesaws, dip nets and slingshots. “Paleolino” is the junior version of “Paleo,” the 2021 Kennerspiel des Jahres. It elegantly combines a sophisticated three-dimensional setup with a memory challenge and tangible elements like a hand axe, from which the resource tokens are taken. And with a sense of community, even the worst earthquakes can be overcome.
