The father of two saw the light of day in Mainz in 1977, only to make his home in Wiesbaden for the next 25 years just days later. Already as a child he lived out his play instinct: almost always with his friends outside, the remaining hours had to be filled alone, for which the few board games in the household had to be used early on, playing solo with several hands.<\/p>\n

In school and study the playful cosmos was then extended by all facets. Thanks to the board game evenings of the local specialized trade, the newest board games were explored as well as the (card game) classics. By entering the working life as a traffic engineer and moving to Darmstadt, the immersion into the very active board game scene there took place. Playing games became a time-filling hobby – even though Tobias can still be found in various handball halls on weekends.<\/p>\n

During his studies Tobias Franke was responsible for the website of the student council as a student assistant. In order to deepen the knowledge he gained, he also ran his own small website, which mainly collected interesting facts about the wolverine – which also explains the very unique domain name www.fjelfras.de. This domain was reactivated in 2016 as a private blog, with the content focusing quite quickly on board game topics. Since 2023, Tobias Franke has been running the board game podcast “Cocktails for Meeples” together with Jenny Konrad.<\/p>\n
