Hans im Glück (Hans in Luck)

Hans im Glück (Hans in Luck)

Less is more – and who knows that better than the fairytale character Lucky Hans? He starts out with gold and after merrily making a number of trades he ends up happy with nothing. This game is a playful monument to this master of minimalism. Each Hans begins with six gold nugget chips and has to trade them: first for a horse, then a pig, a goose and finally – with a bit of luck – for a four-leaf clover. The rate of exchange is determined by two dice. This can differ enormously, as the numbers on each dice are different. So it’s all about deciding whether to wait for the best moment to trade or just going for a sure thing. The rulebook is slim and the enjoyment is huge – these dice are proof of the old adage: less is more.
